Atlanta Area Council Wood Badge Promo (2010)

What is Wood Badge?

The ultimate leadership training program for BSA adult leaders. Established in 1919 by Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouting Movement, Wood Badge has been the training ground for hundreds of thousands of Scouters around the world. WB brings together leaders from all areas of Scouting — from Cub Scouting to Venturing and all levels of BSA professional staff. The course draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles, and successful outdoor leadership organizations throughout the country.

Why should I go to WB?

Units with a wealth of highly trained leaders are able to deliver a better program and a better experience for our youth. Experience shows that the youth in units with Wood Badge trained leaders will stay in Scouting longer, accomplish more, and have more fun. The skills that you will learn at Wood Badge will not only make your job as a Scout leader easier, but they will also make you a better leader in all facets of your life. The best part of your Wood Badge experience is exposure to a staff with decades of Scouting knowledge that will guide you through the entire Scouting program from Cubs to Venturing. It costs less than one night at that resort hotel with the motivational speaker.
